Men generally enjoy talking more than listening. They tend to listen only to gather information or solve a problem. Their face shows little or no expression but a frown or squint, they often grunt or give no response at all when spoken to, they give less eye contact, and they often refuse to accept conversational topics introduced by women, responding with silence or changing the subject back to their interests. They use more forceful language and tend to answer questions with opinions stated as facts.
Tip 983 (for women): Speak up or change the subject when you've listened more than "Your Fair Share".
Tip 984 (for women): Take care that you don't mislead with your smiling and nodding; Men often take such responses as agreement with and interest in what they're saying.
Tip 985 (for women): Use more forceful language; Avoid tag questions. Answer questions with facts or directly stated opinions.
Tip 986 (for women): Realize that when a man states an opinion he is not necessarily closed to opposing opinions or facts.
Tip 987 (for men): Respect the fact that a woman is not necessarily talking to make a point, but rather to explore feelings or relieve stress.
